How to set up access using MioNet, WD's remote access service:

Set up the drive:

  1. Make sure your WD network drive is connected to your network and turned on.
  2. Load your photos into the Shared Photos folder in the Public folder on the network drive

Create a MioNet account and register the drive:
MioNet is WD's remote access service. It's included free with our network drives.

  1. From your computer browser, go to www.mionet.com, click Create Account, located in the upper right corner of the Web site. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  1. Once your account is created, you will be logged into the MioNet My Account area. Select MioNet Web from the options in the left hand navigation.
  2. Once MioNet Web loads, it displays a Storage Device Found pop-up window with an entry field displaying "WDStorage," a default name. This means MioNet web has detected your WD Network Drive.
  3. Keep the default name or enter your own and click OK.  A registration pop up window confirms your new device name was successfully registered to your MioNet account.

Install the app:

  1. Using your iPhone or iPod touch, download WD Photos from the App Store and install it to your Apple device.
  2. Launch the WD Photos App from your Apple device and click the Login button.
  3. At the login screen, enter the MioNet Account username and password that you just created.

All your photos may not show up right away. Give your WD network drive a few minutes to start optimizing your photos for your iPhone or iPod touch.
